You've seen ads for a free credit report. But do you qualify?

    Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you may be entitled to a free credit report, but only if you meet the following criteria:

    • You've been denied credit, insurance or a job in the last 60 days

    • You are unemployed

    If you answered "yes" to either to one or both of these, see below for bureau addresses to get your free report.

    If you answered "no," it is still vitally important to check your reports. Inaccuracies in your reports can delay your apartment (and other) applications if you aren't denied altogether!

    Consider credit cards for bad credit as an option to help you build, rebuild, or re-establish your credit. Compare credit card deals and apply on-line.
